Brigantine
Located just to the north of Atlantic City, Brigantine is aptly named for the vessels wrecked on its notorious offshore shoals - more than 300 over the years. Also reported to be a possible respository of one of the legendary Captain Kidd's treasures, the island is now noted for its proximity to Atlantic City's casinos. Today, this former playground of the Lenape Indians offers an attractive beach resort.
